Returned last Sunday from two glorious weeks. There is a place that had just opened the week before
we arrived called SANA, it is on Melasti St. An Aussie guy named Brian owns it. I make a point when i go
to Bali to try and never eat at the same spot twice. But my husband and i couldn't help it and ended up
eating there 4 times as the food was unbelievably good. Also they have happy hour ALL day with large
Bintang costing only 13,000 Rup! Bonus. Cheers

By the way if you're looking for a great watering hole head around the corner to Sana, on Melasti, Kuta.
This bar/restaurant is owned by an Aussie couple, Brian and Annie Hayes, we met only Brian but a very
nice bloke! The place has only been opened 6 weeks or so but looks fantastic. The hamburgers are to
die for…made from 100% sirloin and they taste like it. One important thing to know about Sana is they
have an all day happy hour where small Bintangs are 6500rp ! The staff came up and asked what kind of
music we liked and after someone saying U2 they put a music dvd on and you can watch it on a big
screen behind the bar. We stayed here until the rain stopped and luckily we weren’t driving….good time
had by all.

Just down the road from our hotel is a new restaurant that has only been open for 7 weeks. It's name is
Sana and is owned by an Australian couple. Brian (the owner) is a delight to talk to. The menu is simple
but by international standards. The decor is simple but really nice, looks very classy. If you just stay for
drinks you get complimentary nuts, if you order you get a plate of fresh bread and cheese sticks. After
your meal you get a complimentary chocolate liqueur (20% alcohol). The service is exceptional. One
night they had an influx of guests and were run off their feet. Needless to say the table was not set up
when we arrived but soon was, and amazingly we were expecting delays in our food order but we didn’t
have to wait long at all. Beer is very cold which helps when deciding whether to stay awhile.

When I was at Sana two weeks ago they were having ALL DAY happy hours where small Bintang was
6500rp...easy to make a pig of yourself. Even if you are after a snack during the day they make the best
hamburgers too. Say good'aye to Brian he is a very nice bloke.
